IVY LANE (1921-2019)

A large congregation gathered on 30th May to bid farewell to our oldest member, Ivy Lane. She was a well-loved member of the 10.45am congregation, who despite the difficulties of increasing hearing loss, maintained a keen sense of humour with a lovely smile. She will also be remembered for her hat (which I told her needed a feather).

She was a native of Pentre in the Rhondda, who spent her early years round Ross on Wye & then Tewkesbury where she met her husband of 50 years, Dennis. They moved to Bakewell Road, Matlock when Dennis was demobbed after the war & Ivy got involved with All Saints’, helping with bazaars & was a member of Ladies Fellowship.

She had a great love of nature & eating out with friends, enjoying trips out round the countryside. May she rest in peace & rise in glory.
